Branding

The name ‘Maison PB’ goes back a generation. Everybody is familiar with Antoon’s Instagram name ‘AntoonPB’, but only few know the origin of it. Antoon’s dad, Justus, used to be in a fraternity known as the ‘Pretty Boys’, short ‘PB’. They all lived in a house together and it was called the ‘Maison PB’. Antoon and his close friends took over this name for their new group and all inherited the PB behind their names.

When we started our first brainstorm with Antoon, we immediately felt that this should form the solid basis for his brand. It contained everything that was important around Antoon; a family story, the bond with his friends and the connection to his student fanbase. It was such a good story that perfectly captured the ethos of the entire Antoon brand that we had to use this for something special.

Design

The varsity jacket, inspired by Antoon's father's iconic jacket, holds a rich story. The front features bold 'MPB' letters, representing the Maison PB brand, while the sleeves showcase the numbers 1 and 2 from one of Antoon's tracks. The right sleeve includes velcro patches, such as the Poekie patch, symbolizing Antoon's early career and beloved cat from Tiktok. Three extra patches were created, including a limited edition Ziggo Dome patch, Friends and Family patch, and Antoon Crew patch. The back of the jacket holds various Easter eggs, such as the 'Verkerk' family crest, '11-02' for Antoon's birthday, and 'MMII' for his birth year, making it a unique and meaningful piece. At the final stage of this whole project Coca Cola came into the mix. They saw the jacket we had made and the picture that was the original inspiration of it all. Coincidentally, this color almost matched the Coca Cola red. We tweaked the jacket slightly with a vintage Coca Cola patch and the rest is history.
