Ruben Annink
Ruben Annink is a rebellious singer-songwriter who’s quickly rising through the ranks of the Dutch music biz. Armed with tons of charisma and his guitar he got to work on his debut album, of course such a momentous occasion begs for some matching merchandise.
Concept
To many the number thirteen is synonymous with misfortune, to Ruben however it literally represents the start of his life. Thirteen stands for opportunities because every mistake or setback presents a wise lesson for Ruben. He explores these themes thoroughly throughout his album, the project and its title represent the start of a new life in music. Over the course of 2021 the young star has worked hard to reimagine his sound and we are honored to play our part in that process by translating his vision into an image and something tangible.

Design
Ruben is always seen with his iconic seal ring, bearing the number '13' in a gothic font. This ring inspired the cover art and merchandise design for the project. To match Ruben's rugged personality, we added texture to the numbers and surrounding areas, striking a balance between elegance and roughness. Gothic fonts can be uninspiring, but we managed to visually refine the design, creating an elegant look that complements the album cover's art direction.
